The Answers You Need

Below is a list of FAQ's. If you have a question that has not yet been added, please do not hesitate to contact us.

WHAT DOES THE DIFFERENCE IN MEGA PIXELS MEAN?

This is a very good question as a lot of people are not aware that it can make a huge difference when purchasing CCTV.

You will find CCTV suppliers and installers that supply systems that are cheap and the images look reasonable, but as soon as you try to zoom in, the image will blur so much that you wont see the person or object at all for clear identification.

To truly understand the difference in mega pixels we would strongly recommend researching before buying any system - in the meantime please click here for a short video explaining the difference in mega pixels (this is not a JSSS video)

DO I NEED A SITE SURVEY?

To cut a long story short, no and we understand that some people just want a quote and that's fine but by doing that we can only estimate, in turn, not providing you with a more precise price.

Our site surveys take no longer than 30 minutes and most importantly, they are free.

WHAT CCTV SYSTEMS DO YOU INSTALL?

In the nicest possible way of putting this, once we install your system, we don't want to hear back from you, that is why we use Hikvision CCTV equipment.

Established in 2001 and now one of the largest suppliers of surveillance equipment world wide, Hikvision is a proven brand you can trust for high quality CCTV products. Hikvision is certainly the most innovative and best choice when it comes to home security surveillance systems.

IF I PURCHASE MY OWN CCTV, CAN YOU INSTALL IT?

Although we would prefer you to use us to provide you a competitive quote, Yes, after checking and inspecting your purchased equipment, we would be happy to help. We can not however, provide warranties or guarentees on equipment you have purchased elsewhere.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

At the moment we are currently providing our services in the South East region including Essex. Areas we cover are: #Kent #Essex #Eastsussex #Westsussex  and #Surrey

We can, if required, cover further afield.

DO YOU HAVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APP?

CAN I VIEW MY CAMERAS VIA A PHONE OR TABLET

The majority of our systems are capable of this, however this also depends on your router location as it has to be hardwired. We will always install the system so that remote viewing is enabled by default and can be fully set up at a later date if required.

ONCE THE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE, WHAT HAPPENS THEN?

On completion of the installation we will provide you with a full demonstration and will not leave till you feel confident.

If your system is set up to work on your internet through your router, with your permission, we can change or update any settings remotely.

We would highly recommend an annual system service to make sure the firmware is up to date, all cameras are cleaned and re-focused if needed and another user instruction if required.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY ROUTER OR INTERNET PROVIDER

In most situations, nothing!

Your system is set up to automatically update when required, in turn, sending all the new information to any of your devices set up for remote viewing.

If you do have issues logging back on, please just contact us.

WILL MY CAMERAS WORK AT NIGHT?

Yes, whether it be clear black and white or full colour (#ColorVu technology required)

You will still have a good picture quality.

WILL MY CAMERAS WORK IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS?

In the UK we are prone to all types of weather, you could say we are the only country in the world where you can have all seasons in one day.

All our cameras come with a minimum of IP66 rated, meaning they are protected from high pressure water jets from any direction and limited ingress protection.

DO I HAVE TO CLEAN THE CAMERAS?

We would recommend having us to visit once a year to conduct a thorough service, which would include a camera clean as well as refocusing, hard drive re-write and any necessary firmware updates.

Of course, if you would prefer, you can clean them by using a window cleaning solution and leather wipe.

IF AN ISSUE WERE TO ARISE, WOULD YOU FIX IT FOR ME?

Of course, and if you're still in your complimentary 12 month period of call outs, parts and labour we will be there for free.

If you are out of your maintenance period there would be a small call out charge, please see our pricing page.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY DEVICE THAT HAS THE APP ON?

Hopefully you should be able to conduct a back up on your old phone and download to your new, this would save all your credentials.

In the event the back up does not work, on the day of installation the engineer should have provided you with your username and password.

If you need assistance, do not hesitate to ask.

IS THE APP ALLOCATED TO JUST ONE PERSON?

No, you can have multiples of users but would recommend a maximum of 3-4 to stop any interference or lag on streaming.

WHAT DEVICES CAN I VIEW MY CCTV ON?

You can view your cameras from a TV, desktop, tablet and phone.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ALARM FALSE ALARMS?

We should have already identified any potential issues before and during the installation process but if you do experience false alarms we are happy to help.

With all systems, when the alarm has triggered, there is a memory log of whats occurred on your system, in turn, identifying the culprit device.

We would then establish the best way of resolving this for you.

WILL MY PETS SET OFF MY ALARM

This is the most commonly asked question and the short of it is no.

We have a range of devices that can link to your system that does not rely solely on passive infrared technology, so we can find the best set up for your requirements.

CAN I ARM CERTAIN AREAS, LEAVING OTHER AREAS FREE TO MOVE?

Yes, of course. Our systems can be set up on partitions and by pushing a preset button on your panel it will arm and disarm certain areas you want protected.

I'M INTERESTED IN AN ALARM BUT I WANT MY SHED AND GARAGE COVERED, CAN THIS BE DONE?

Depending on the system, you can have up to 100 metres clear line of sight wire free sensors which does not affect the devices operation what so ever, this means you can cover areas you wouldn't of thought was possible due to the latest technology.
